Our Services

Luxury Exterior Lighting in The Woodlands

A successful nighttime design reveals the character of a property without overwhelming it. At Landmark Design Company, we plan lighting around the architecture, landscape, and outdoor spaces that shape each view. Our goal is a balanced effect from the home, yard, and street.

Brightness alone doesn’t create a refined effect. Thoughtful fixture placement, controlled beam spread, and layered illumination add depth while limiting glare, hotspots, and visual excess.

Call (832) 957-0428 to discuss outdoor lighting for your property and the atmosphere you want to create after dark. We serve The Woodlands and all of North Houston.

Custom Landscape Lighting

We design and install architectural, path, up, and hardscape lighting as one coordinated system. Each element has a purpose within the larger composition, whether it defines an entry, brings dimension to a tree canopy, or makes an outdoor living area more inviting at night.

Our lighting services include:

  • Architectural Lighting: Shaped around façades, columns, rooflines, and material textures
  • Path Lighting: Positioned to support visibility without producing a runway effect
  • Uplighting: Aimed to reveal trees, garden features, and structural details
  • Hardscape Lighting: Integrated with steps, walls, patios, and other built surfaces

We use premium, commercial-grade LED fixtures and components. Our work for luxury homeowners and custom builders calls for careful placement, discreet equipment, and professional installation throughout the property, and that is exactly what we deliver.

Full-Service Christmas Lighting

Our Christmas lighting service covers every stage, from initial design through installation, maintenance, removal, and storage. The same team handles each stage, keeping the plan consistent across rooflines, entries, wreaths, garland, and tree wraps. We supply our own commercial-grade Christmas lights, then label and prepare them for the next season after removal.

Our Approach & Process
We design and install exterior lighting shaped around your property.
1
WALK THE PROPERTY
We discuss the nighttime views that matter, the areas you use, and how the home’s architecture relates to its landscape.
2
RECOMMEND WHAT FITS
We recommend what fits the property rather than steering you toward the largest or most expensive system. Fixtures, aiming, brightness, and sightlines are considered together.
3
FINISH CLEANLY
Our style is warm, balanced, and restrained. Once installation is complete, we leave the property clean and the system fully working.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Good Questions, Straight Answers

  • What parts of a property can outdoor lighting bring into focus?

Outdoor lighting can bring architecture, trees, paths, entries, and gathering spaces into focus. Priorities depend on the property’s layout, primary viewing angles, and how each illuminated area relates to the home and adjacent properties.

  • How can landscape lighting avoid glare and hotspots?

We shield fixtures and evaluate the light from windows, outdoor gathering areas, and neighboring properties. Careful placement, aiming, spacing, and brightness help prevent a single fixture or surface from becoming visually overpowering.

  • What outdoor lighting standards apply to homes in The Woodlands?

The Woodlands Residential Development Standards address glare, fixture shielding, fixture appearance, landscape lighting scale, and color temperature. The 2024 standards generally identify 2700K to 3000K as the warm range for LED exterior lighting. Property-specific requirements may vary, so homeowners should review the applicable residential standards before installation.

  • When can Christmas lighting be displayed in The Woodlands?

Under the 2024 Woodlands Residential Development Standards, Christmas decorations and lights may be installed no earlier than the first Monday in October. Lighting may be illuminated beginning the second Monday in November and must be removed by January 15 of the following year.

  • Can outdoor lighting be designed around an existing landscape?

Yes. A design can account for existing materials, plant growth, access, and important nighttime views. Wiring routes, drainage, and the relationship between mature landscaping and nearby structures should also inform fixture locations.
