About Landmark Design Company

We started Landmark Design Company as three guys who grew up together: two lifelong friends and one of their brothers. That shared history still shapes how we work. Our clients get to know us, and we get to know their homes.

Most of our work is on luxury homes, where close attention to the architecture and grounds matters. We’re also glad to take on commercial projects. In either setting, we take the time to understand what belongs there before we design the lighting.

Designed Around the Property

Good lighting shouldn’t compete with a property. It should bring out the architecture, trees, landscaping, and outdoor spaces people use at night without washing everything in brightness. Our style is warm, balanced, and restrained. We’re design-driven, not sales-driven.

Each plan is built around the property rather than a pre-packaged fixture layout. We consider where light is useful, which features deserve emphasis, and how the lighting should look from key viewing points and the street. We design to avoid glare, hotspots, and over-lighting.

Architectural, path, up-lighting, and hardscape lighting work together as one coordinated system. We study the home’s materials and landscaping, then account for pools, outdoor living areas, hardscapes, and street presence. The goal is warmth, depth, and controlled contrast.

A Lighting Plan Built with You

We begin by walking the property with you. We discuss the features you want to highlight, the areas you use after dark, and the visual effect you prefer. That context helps us recommend what will actually work, not the largest or most expensive system. We work through the options with you until the plan makes sense for your priorities.

Pool areas, patios, and gathering spaces require another layer of planning. We account for how people use them at night while controlling brightness around seating positions, windows, and reflective surfaces.

Our installations use premium, commercial-grade LED fixtures and components. Fixture type, placement, and aiming are selected according to the feature being lit and the shadow pattern the design calls for. We leave the property clean and the installed system fully working.

One Standard, Two Seasons

We design landscape lighting and Christmas lighting for luxury homes and commercial sites in The Woodlands. Both follow the same standard: the lighting should look like it belongs there.

For Christmas lighting, we develop the composition around rooflines and landscaping. We also consider the architecture and the distance from which the display will be viewed. Garland, wreaths, and tree wraps are arranged to complement the home rather than compete with it.

The same team handles design, installation, maintenance, removal, and storage throughout the season. We use our own commercial-grade lights, then label and prepare everything for the following season. Returning clients also receive a discount.

We regularly work with luxury homeowners and custom builders who expect close attention to detail, professionalism, and quality, and we hold our work to that standard. For commercial sites, we adapt the design to the building, its outdoor areas, and the intended nighttime presentation.
