Good lighting shouldn’t compete with a property. It should bring out the architecture, the trees, and the outdoor spaces people actually use at night.

We started Landmark Design Company as three guys who grew up together: two lifelong friends and one of their brothers. That history still shapes how we work. Our clients know the people working on their properties, and we take the time to know their homes.

Our work is built around landscape lighting and Christmas lighting. Most of it is for luxury homes, where a balanced design and close attention to detail matter.

Designed Around the Property

Each plan starts with the property itself: its architecture, materials, landscaping, trees, and hardscapes. We also account for pools, outdoor living areas, and the way the home presents from the street. The goal is lighting that belongs with the property instead of looking added later.

We don’t sell pre-packaged systems, and we’re design-driven, not sales-driven. We design for warmth, depth, and balance, with a clear distinction between focal features and supporting areas.

Brighter isn’t better. We avoid glare, harsh hotspots, and over-lighting. The plan should support how the property looks and how you use it after dark.

Personal From the Start

We begin by walking the property with you. That gives us time to understand your goals, see how the outdoor areas connect, and identify focal points, access conditions, possible fixture locations, and places where glare or uneven coverage could become a problem.

We work through placement, brightness, beam direction, and contrast, then recommend what will actually work. We don’t automatically propose the largest or most expensive system. We keep working through the options with you until the plan makes sense.

You’ll get to know the people working on your project, and we’ll get to know your home. That relationship keeps the design grounded in what you want to see and how you use the property at night.

Landscape & Christmas Lighting

Landscape lighting works best when every layer supports the same nighttime view. We design and install one coordinated system. Architectural and path lighting are planned with uplighting and hardscape lighting rather than treated as separate additions.

We use premium, commercial-grade LED fixtures and components. During installation, we pay close attention to discreet placement, clean aiming, wiring, and consistent light quality. We leave the property clean and the system fully working.

Our Christmas lighting displays respond to the home’s proportions, architecture, landscaping, sightlines, and your preferred style. Rooflines, columns, and tree wraps may form part of the display. Garland, wreaths, and entryway treatments are composed into that same coordinated design.

Using our own commercial-grade lights, the same team handles design, installation, and in-season maintenance. We also handle removal and organized storage. Everything is labeled and prepared for the following season, and returning clients receive a discount.

We regularly work with luxury homeowners and custom builders who expect close attention to detail, professionalism, and quality. Although most of our projects are luxury homes, we’re glad to take on commercial properties too.
